How to prepare for Logical/Critical Reasoning Section of CAT/MAT/SNAP/ XAT/ GMAT
Questions
on reasoning are always asked in CAT as well as other MBA entrance exams like
MAT, SNAP, XAT and GMAT. Reasoning questions may be of several types, such as
analytical reasoning, logical reasoning and puzzles. Students must be prepared
for all types of questions in critical reasoning section of CAT exam.
Analytical
Reasoning: In this section of CAT exam, a number of clues are given on
which a student has to answer a number of questions. To prepare for the
reasoning section, A table must be made of all the clues and then all the
questions can be answered.
Logical Reasoning: In Logical reasoning section of CAT exam,
either a large table is given or else some facts in the form of a riddle are
given.
Games: This is a new type of question in CAT Critical Reasoning
section. A table is given about a game and the student has to figure out either
the odds or the matches played. In recent years, questions on games has seen an
increasing trend in CAT critical reasoning section. These kind of questions tend
to be difficult and student has to process a lot of data to solve the questions.
Puzzles : In recent years puzzles have been asked in CAT
critical Reasoning section. This is a typically long question. While earlier
there were a number of questions associated with the informtion, now there is
just one question, which makes it more time consuming. To prepare for critical
reasoning students should practice a lot of puzzles from books and the internet
so that you can succeed in the exam.
